hi, I'm Kaylan!

Today, more than ever, crafting a narrative that resonates with your audience and authentically represents your identity is key to personalizing a professional brand that is strong, recognizable and authentic. K Made Design Co., led by the incredibly talented Karlie Svebakken, is the perfect example of this.
What sets you apart in a crowded marketplace? Brand messaging, the art of crafting a narrative that truly embodies who you are and what you stand for. This is the quick-win way to personalize a professional brand to make it approachable and memorable!
Brand messaging is the language, tone, and communication style used to represent your personal brand. It’s how you convey your value proposition, beliefs, and the unique qualities that set you apart from others. Effective brand messaging creates a consistent voice that echoes across all your platforms, from your website and social media to your direct communications with clients.
The brand messaging for K Made Design Co. was built on a foundation of detailed audience research and a well-defined brand mission. The brand mission, “to collaborate with purpose-driven female founders to accelerate their journey toward success,” and the vision of empowering these entrepreneurs through iconic branding and web design, set the tone for a message that was both inspiring and focused.
Getting the Grapevine Buzzing About You
I had fun with Karlie’s brand messaging, which really came to life following her brand photo shoot when she took several pictures with a classic, vintage telephone. We had already finalized her brand messaging, which centered around iconic branding and sparking bubbling conversations, but after seeing that phone I HAD to take it a step further.
So, I added it one more messaging theme — the grapevine. I was so excited about this concept because it has a verrrry vintage feel because of the hit Marvin Gaye song, “I Heard it Through the Grapevine.” I made it the feature of her contact page (I really wanted it in a main headline, but didn’t know how well-known the phrase was these days, so I featured it on the contact page).
I also pulled in the grapevine onto her homepage: “K Made Design Co. creates classic, timeless, and authentic brands and websites that get the grapevine buzzing about you.” This perfectly encapsulates her brand’s unique selling proposition – creating iconic brands that are not just visually appealing but conversation starters.
Key Components of K Made Design Co.’s Messaging:
Voice and Tone: Professional yet approachable, instilling confidence while being relatable.
Unique Selling Proposition: Focus on creating timeless, memorable brands that stand out.
Brand Story: Embedded in every aspect of the messaging, showcasing Karlie’s journey and her commitment to empowering female founders.

Iconic Branding: A commitment to creating unique and memorable brands, as emphasized in her brand pillars, allows Karlie to position herself distinctively in the market.
Brand Promise: The promise of sparking bubbling conversations and attracting ideal audiences underlines the strategic aspect of her messaging, aimed at propelling her clients’ growth.
Why Brand Messaging Matters for Your Personal Brand
1. Creates Connection and Relatability
Good brand messaging resonates with your audience. It speaks to their needs, aspirations, and challenges in order to create a connection that goes beyond mere transactions. When people feel understood and related to your story, they are more likely to engage with your brand.
Personal elements in your brand help forge a stronger emotional connection with your audience. People relate to stories and values, and by sharing yours, you make your brand more relatable and trustworthy.
2. Establishes Credibility and Trust to Build Brand Loyalty
Consistent and clear messaging helps establish you as a credible authority in your field. It builds trust by showcasing your expertise and commitment to your niche, making your audience more likely to turn to you for solutions or insights.
We had fun establishing credibility and trust for Karlie in a fun way. She had so much great feedback from her audience surveys, I pulled them in to emphasize her differentiators!
Now, Karlie says she’s excited to market her services even more and connect with new, upleveled audiences. She says, “I’m EXCITED again to market my business and promote my website – it made me confident in who I am, who I serve, what I specialize in, etc.!”
A brand that showcases a human side is more likely to inspire loyalty. Customers often feel more aligned with brands that have personalities and values that resonate with their own.
3. Differentiates You in a Crowded Market
In a world saturated with content and personalities, a distinct brand message helps you stand out. It highlights your unique approach and perspective, making you memorable and easily identifiable in your industry.
Crafting Your Brand Messaging: Inspiration from K Made Design Co.
1. Understand Your Audience
From detailed and strategic audience surveys, I was able to create an in-depth audience persona that was centered on “seasoned business owners gearing up for a rebrand.” This deep understanding of her audience’s stage in their business journey informed her messaging, making it highly relevant and impactful to the audiences she’s looking to attract. She said she “knew that my business and services had outgrown my current website and the copy,” and with these deep insights I was able to tailor her messaging to address the specific needs for rebranding and growth.
2. Define Core Values and Mission
The brand values and mission of K Made Design Co. – such as authenticity, support, and a dedication to creating iconic brands – are not just statements — they are the driving force behind every component of Karle’s brand message. Karlie’s mission, “to collaborate with purpose-driven female founders to accelerate their journey toward success,” which resonates with and aims to inspire her target audience.
3. Develop a Consistent Voice and Tone
Consistency in voice and tone across K Made Design Co.’s messaging was incredibly important to cement the brand’s identity. Karlie’s approachable yet professional tone resonates with her audience, making her brand both relatable and trustworthy. Maintaining a consistent voice and tone was vital in building trust — she says, “You perfectly balanced my need to be professional and an expert, while also being friendly and people-oriented!”
4. Tell Your Story
Karlie’s brand story, woven into her messaging strategy, adds depth and personalization to her brand. This makes it more engaging and relatable to her audience. My priority was to create a narrative through her website copy. This narrative helps her potential clients see the end results AND what it feels like through her process. She says, “From the Brand Messaging Presentation to the website copy, I felt like you were inside my brain!”
A Well-Crafted Brand Message is the Key to Personalizing a Professional Brand
The brand messaging strategy of K Made Design Co. underlines the power of well-crafted brand messaging in personalizing a professional brand. It demonstrates how a strategic narrative can connect with an audience, establish credibility, and set a brand apart.

My head is buzzing with all kinds of ideas and excitement on the future of my business, and how I’ll implement what she did for me! You leave with so much more than just website copy – everything is so personalized and thorough from your brand messaging to your audience analysis to your content strategy. If you have goals to meet in your business and don’t know how your current marketing is going to get you there, Kaylan is the GOAT!
I’m a trained conversion copywriter and experienced brand building with a knack for brand messaging, organic content marketing, writing copy that actually does something for your marketing, and reading every mystery novel Agatha Christie ever wrote (not the psycho mysteries, the kind where the butler did it).
I know your brand message doesn’t begin and end with a blog post; it starts the moment a human discovers you, deepens at every touchpoint through their buyer journey, and hopefully it never ends. My job is simple — map literally all of it out and write it up for you. No biggie.
But, I didn’t get a degree in creative writing for nothing, and from my experience in news reporting I took one major thing — stories connect us and make us more human. That’s why I spend 80% of my process digging in to find the part of your story that connects with the story your ideal client wants to tell. I find that story, and I tell it. I tell it through your marketing and your content so that when your ideal client discovers you, they step into a relationship that never ends.
